Shipper Portal: Post Loads Without a Brokerage Runaround
The Shipper Portal is FreightConnect's self-serve entry point for shippers. Post loads, fund escrow, and get matched with FMCSA-verified carriers — no subscription, no sales call, no waiting on a broker to call you back.
Who It's For
Manufacturers, distributors, and small shippers who want vetted truckload capacity without committing to a brokerage contract. Shipper accounts are free — you pay per load via an escrow deposit, and that's it.
Getting Started
- Go to freightconnect.ai/signup?role=shipper
- Create your account and complete your shipper profile — company details, primary contact, and payment method
- You'll land on the Shipper Dashboard, your home for postings, tracking, and documents
Registration is instant. Credit review for payment-terms postings happens in the background and doesn't block your first load.
Posting a Load
From the Shipper Dashboard, click Post a Load and fill in:
- Origin & destination — pickup and delivery locations
- Pickup date — when the freight is ready
- Equipment type — Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, etc.
- Weight & commodity — what's moving
- Offered rate — what you'll pay for the move
Your posting goes live on the unified load board immediately, where verified carriers and carrier-brokers can see it and bid. FreightConnect Direct postings get featured placement — they sort above aggregated external loads.
Escrow-Guaranteed Payment
When you accept a carrier, you fund escrow for the load amount. The money is held, not charged — it's released to the carrier only when the proof of delivery clears. See Escrow & Payments for the full flow.
This is what gets you premium capacity: carriers prioritize loads where payment is already secured.
Tracking & Documents
Every posting shows live status from booking through delivery on your Shipper Dashboard — the same milestone tracking brokers see, including document uploads (BOL, POD) processed by AI extraction.
Every Carrier Is Vetted
You never see an unverified carrier. Every carrier on the platform passes FMCSA verification, OFAC screening, and insurance checks with a timestamped vetting record. See Carrier Network & KYC.
