Account / Upgrade Downgrade

Upgrade & Downgrade

Change your plan at any time. Charges are prorated based on your billing cycle.

Upgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to SettingsBillingChange Plan
  2. Select the new plan (higher tier)
  3. Review the prorated charge
  4. Click Confirm Upgrade

Example: You're on Solo ($149/month) and upgrade on April 20 (10 days into your cycle):

  • Days remaining at Solo rate: 10 days
  • Cost: ~$50 (prorated)
  • Days at Brokerage rate: 10 days
  • Cost: ~$130 (prorated)
  • Charge now: ~$130 − $50 = ~$80
  • Your next billing date: May 13 (one full month at Brokerage rate = $399)

You get access to new features immediately.

Downgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to SettingsBillingChange Plan
  2. Select the new plan (lower tier)
  3. Review the downgrade terms
  4. Click Confirm Downgrade

Important: Downgrade takes effect at your next billing cycle, not immediately.

Example: You're on Brokerage ($399/month) and downgrade on April 20:

  • You pay $399 for April (nothing changes in April)
  • On May 13, you start paying $149/month (Solo rate)

If you're over the user limit for a plan (e.g., 8 users on Solo, which allows 1):

  • You'll be prompted to remove users before the downgrade takes effect
  • After downgrade is complete, the system enforces the new user limit

User Changes

Brokerage Users

Brokerage includes 5 users. Additional users cost $50/month each.

To add a user:

  1. Go to SettingsTeamAdd Member
  2. Enter email and role
  3. Send invite

They're added immediately. You're billed for the additional user on your next cycle.

To remove a user:

  1. Go to SettingsTeam → select user
  2. Click Remove from Team
  3. They lose access immediately
  4. Your next charge is reduced by $50 (if you drop below your base 5)

Enterprise Plans

Enterprise plans are custom. Work with your account manager to:

  • Adjust user count
  • Modify features
  • Change billing terms (net 30, net 60, net 90)
  • Request custom development

No self-service changes for Enterprise. Contact your AM or matt@freightconnect.ai.

Billing Impact

Upgrade

You pay the difference between plans (prorated) immediately. Example:

  • Current plan: Solo ($149/month)
  • New plan: Brokerage ($399/month)
  • Difference: $250/month
  • Prorated charge (10 days): ~$83
  • You're charged ~$83 today

Downgrade

You pay nothing extra. Your next charge is reduced. Example:

  • Current plan: Brokerage ($399/month)
  • New plan: Solo ($149/month)
  • Next billing: May 13
  • New monthly charge: $149 (instead of $399)

Trial to Paid

If you're on a free trial and upgrade:

  • No prorating (you haven't been charged yet)
  • Your first charge is the full monthly plan price
  • Recurring billing starts on your anniversary date

Retaining Features After Downgrade

If you downgrade from Brokerage to Solo:

  • You lose advanced features (agents, integrations, tracking)
  • Your existing loads remain accessible (read-only)
  • You can still view historical data and reports
  • New loads must use Solo features only

Important: Some features (like custom agents on Enterprise) don't downgrade. After downgrading from Enterprise to Brokerage, custom agents are disabled.

Pause vs. Downgrade

Don't want to use FreightConnect for a few months?

Option 1: Pause your subscription

  1. Go to SettingsBillingPause Subscription
  2. Choose pause duration (1-6 months)
  3. Billing is paused; you keep your data
  4. When pause ends, billing resumes automatically

Option 2: Downgrade to Solo ($149/month minimum)

  1. Go to SettingsBillingChange Plan
  2. Select Solo
  3. Keep your data; you can upgrade later

Pausing is better if you know you'll come back. Downgrading is better if you're uncertain.

Cancelling Entirely

If you want to leave:

  1. Go to SettingsBillingCancel Subscription
  2. Tell us why (feedback helps)
  3. Your subscription cancels at the end of your current billing period
  4. You keep access until the end of the period
  5. After cancellation, you can re-subscribe anytime

Your data is retained for 90 days. After that, we'll offer to export it before permanent deletion.

Understanding Your Invoice

Your monthly invoice shows:

  • Subscription charge — your plan fee for the month
  • Prorations — any upgrades/downgrades mid-cycle
  • Add-on charges — extra users, telematics, etc.
  • Credits — promos, discounts, or refunds
  • Tax — sales tax (varies by state)
  • Total due — final amount

You can download invoices anytime in SettingsBillingInvoices.

Multi-Month Discounts

Annual billing (Enterprise only): 2-month discount if you pre-pay for 12 months.

Example: Enterprise at $799/month = $9,588/year

  • With annual discount: $9,588 − 2 months = ~$7,590/year (20% savings)

Contact matt@freightconnect.ai to enable annual billing.
