FreightConnect makes money when you move freight — not by charging you to get started. Carriers, carrier-brokers, and shippers use the platform free; brokerages that want the full SaaS toolkit subscribe.

Free Roles

Carrier-Broker — Free to start

For: Carriers with brokerage authority who want to broker their own loads and keep the margin.

  • 85% commission split — you keep 85% of every brokered commission; the platform takes 15%

Platform Economics (all roles)

Beyond subscriptions, FreightConnect earns on the marketplace side — always taken from the transaction, never as a surprise fee:

  • 15% of brokered commissions (carrier-brokers keep 85%)
  • Tiered dedicated-lane royalties — 12/10/8/6% by lane value (details)
  • Insurance affiliate commission — built into quoted premiums, never added on top
  • Fuel network rebate — a few cents per gallon from the network, not from your discount

Billing

  • Monthly billing: charged on the same day each month via Stripe
  • Prorated charges: upgrade/downgrade mid-month is prorated automatically
  • Taxes: sales tax added per your state

Choosing Your Plan

  • Carrier or owner-op? You don't need a plan — sign up free and open the load board.
  • Have brokerage authority? Register as a carrier-broker — free, 85% split.
  • Shipper? Post free, pay per load via escrow.
  • Running a brokerage? Start with Starter at $199 and upgrade when you need seats, analytics, and integrations.

Upgrade Path

Upgrade anytime:

  1. Go to Settings → Billing → Upgrade Plan
  2. Select the new plan
  3. Confirm — charges are prorated
