Account / Cancel Account

Cancelling Your Account

If you decide to leave FreightConnect, here's what happens.

Cancellation Process

  1. Go to SettingsBillingCancel Subscription
  2. Select why you're leaving (feedback helps us improve)
  3. Confirm cancellation
  4. Your subscription is scheduled to end at the end of your current billing period

Important: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your cycle, not immediately. You keep full access until then.

During the Cancellation Period

  • You can continue posting and managing loads
  • All features remain available
  • Your team still has access
  • Billing continues as normal (one final charge)

If you change your mind before the end of the period, go back to SettingsBilling and click Reactivate Subscription.

After Cancellation

Once your subscription ends:

  • Access frozen — you can't post new loads
  • Data retained — 90 days (for export or accidental re-subscription)
  • Read-only mode — you can view historical loads and reports

Exporting Your Data

Before cancellation (or within 90 days after), export your data:

  1. Go to ToolsDownload Data
  2. Select what to export:
    • All loads (including completed shipments)
    • Settlement records
    • Carrier network
    • Performance analytics
  3. Choose format: CSV or JSON
  4. Download

This gives you a complete record of your data for your records or migration to another system.

Account Deletion

If you want to permanently delete your account (not just suspend it):

  1. Go to SettingsAccountDelete Account
  2. Enter your password to confirm
  3. All data is permanently deleted (cannot be recovered)

Account deletion happens immediately. You'll receive a confirmation email.

Note: If you have unpaid invoices, deletion is blocked. Pay outstanding charges first.

Re-Subscription

Changed your mind? You can re-subscribe anytime:

  1. Log back in to your old account (if within 90 days)
  2. Click Reactivate Subscription
  3. OR, create a new account
  4. Your data from the old account is available for import (if still in the 90-day window)

Re-subscription starts a new billing cycle.

Data Retention After Cancellation

  • First 90 days: data is retained; you can access it or export
  • After 90 days: data is permanently deleted unless you request archival
  • Archived data: available on request for up to 7 years (may incur retrieval fee)

To request archival before deletion:

  1. Contact matt@freightconnect.ai
  2. Request "long-term archival"
  3. We'll store your data encrypted for up to 7 years

Offboarding Assistance

If you need help migrating to another system:

  1. Request an offboarding consultation from matt@freightconnect.ai
  2. We'll help you:
    • Export all data in standard formats
    • Understand what data you need for compliance/audit
    • Map your loads to your new system

This is usually a 1-2 hour call, free for Brokerage+ customers, $500 for others.

Final Invoice

Your final invoice is issued on your last billing date. It covers through the end of your subscription period.

If you cancel mid-cycle (during your paid period), no refund is issued, but you keep access for the remainder of the billing cycle.

Feedback

When you cancel, we ask why. Your feedback helps us improve. Common reasons:

  • "Cost too high"
  • "Features not needed"
  • "Moving to another provider"
  • "Business shutting down"
  • "Switching to in-house system"

Your honest feedback is valuable.

Contacts & Next Steps

Before you go:

  • Sales: matt@freightconnect.ai — we may have solutions for your concerns

Account Recovery

If your account is cancelled accidentally:

  1. Contact matt@freightconnect.ai within 24 hours
  2. We can restore your subscription immediately
  3. No data loss

After 24 hours, recovery is more difficult (data may have been deleted). Act quickly.
