Insurance Marketplace: Per-Load Cargo Coverage at Quote Time
FreightConnect embeds a cargo insurance marketplace directly in the load workflow — get quotes, bind a policy, and file claims without leaving the platform.
Beta. The quote/bind/claim workflow is live in the product today. Coverage placement runs through our insurance partner panel, and partner onboarding is still in progress — check the in-app insurance page for the current status of live coverage in your account.
Getting Quotes
From a load's detail view (or the Insurance page), request quotes and you'll get side-by-side options from the partner panel. Each quote shows:
- Coverage amount — defaults to the load's declared value, or $100,000 when no value is declared
- Premium — priced deterministically from the load and carrier risk profile, so the same load always quotes the same
- Validity — quotes are honored for 7 days, matching standard per-load cargo terms
Binding a Policy
Pick a quote and click Bind. The policy attaches to the load, and the certificate is available from the load's documents. Bound policies appear under Insurance → Policies with their status and coverage window.
Filing a Claim
If freight is damaged or lost, file the claim from the policy record — claim intake is in-platform, and status updates flow back to the same view.
Why In-Platform Insurance
- No coverage gaps. Coverage is matched to the actual load — value, commodity, lane — not an annual blanket guess.
- One workflow. Quote at booking, certificate on the load, claim from the same screen.
- Vetted counterparties. Underwriting sees FMCSA-verified carriers with vetting records, which keeps premiums honest.
