Integrations / Eld Telematics
ELD & Telematics
Roadmap. Direct ELD/telematics integrations (Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Verizon Connect) are on the FreightConnect roadmap and are not live yet. Tracking today is milestone-based — see below for exactly what that means, and Shipment Tracking for how it works.
How Tracking Works Today
FreightConnect tracks every shipment through a validated status workflow:
- Each shipment moves through booked → dispatched → picked up → in transit → delivered, with every transition timestamped and validated (no skipping states by accident)
- Check-call updates — dispatchers log location and status updates against the shipment
- Tracking events — every status change and update appears on the shipment's event timeline, visible to brokers and shippers alike
- Document milestones — BOL at pickup and POD at delivery are uploaded and AI-extracted, closing the loop on delivery confirmation
This gives shippers and brokers a live, auditable timeline for every load without requiring carriers to run specific hardware.
What ELD Integration Will Add
When ELD integrations ship, connected carriers will add:
- GPS breadcrumbs — live truck position on a map, not just check-calls
- Automatic milestone detection — geofenced pickup/delivery arrival
- ETA updates — recalculated from actual position and speed
